All prescriptions are computer generated for safety and clarity.
We are not a dispensing Practice so you will need to take your prescription to the pharmacist; there is no charge for prescriptions if you are exempt. If you require many medicines on a monthly basis it may be cheaper to purchase a pre-payment certificate for a twelve-month period. Your pharmacist will be able to answer any questions you have regarding this. We now require 3 working days to process prescriptions.
Repeat Prescriptions
Repeat prescriptions are given for medicines you need to take on a long-term basis, sometimes for life. On the right-hand side of the prescription is a list of your current medications, please tick the ones you need and return the slip to the surgery when you have 10 working days worth of medication left. Also on the right-hand side of the slip, you may find a message from the doctor. We do not accept orders for prescriptions over the telephone as this can lead to mistakes. You may also sign up for our online services which will allow you to order your repeat medication online. Please ask reception if you will need to provide a photographic ID at the time of registering. Prescriptions will not be handed to anybody under the age of 14 years.
Nominated Pharmacy
We have arranged a prescription ordering and collection service with Boots in Ash, Canterbury Whitefriars and Aylesham. Please speak to the pharmacist for further information.
Medication Reviews
Once or twice a year the doctor/nurse will need to see you for a medication review, through this review the doctor will be able to see if your medication needs to be increased, decreased, changed or maybe stopped as well as monitor your condition.
